So I had hoped that yesterday, we would get 3-5 drum tracks done in the studio. We got none in the end. :( Instead, the day was a very exhausting and painful learning experience. Iapos;m trying to keep a positive point of view about it, but it hurt. On the plus side, though, Mark (the studio owner) dropped by and helped out with mic placement and gear/software configuration, and got us amazing drum sounds about a thousand times better than my own meager work.

Anyway, back to the woodshed for some serious preproduction and arrangement work. We need a clearer concept of the drum sounds. But heck, thatapos;s just work. Itapos;s doable. And when we get it, itapos;s going to be magnificent. The most important things are that a: we have a terrific collection of songs to record, and b: we all want to put 100 into the SOUND, rather than crushing ourselves just to get it out the door on schedule. And we have until Convergence next year. And the guitar and drum sounds weapos;re generating at Tiny Robots studio now are just about everything we could hope for. Itapos;s like the Millenium Falcon of studios.
